Guerra is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma and interned for CBS News in New York with Charles Osgood on CBS Sunday Morning. Amanda gained a global news perspective when she traveled on assignments to Spain, Italy, Portugal, and France. After graduating, Amanda worked with ABC in Oklahoma City, the youngest hire on the market at only twenty-two years old. She chased tornados and covered a plethora of local stories.

Amanda worked with NBC 5 for five years as an anchor and reporter, covering the West fertilizer plant explosion, Presidential campaigns, and the Ebola outbreak. In 2016, she took a career detour and now is a KRLD News Radio co-anchor in North Texas. During the regional High School Journalism Day, Amanda was the keynote speaker & credited her success to being passionate about people. During the event, she cited I could never sit at a desk all day for a living and that journalism is part of her core.

She began her post-college career at KOCO-TV in Oklahoma City, where, at age 22, she was one of the youngest reporters ever in the OKC market. And she became a tornado chaser.
