Chickillo was arrested after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend during a gambling dispute at a resort in southwestern Pennsylvania, the courthouse. He was arrested early on October 20 after the state police responded to the Nemacolin Woodlands Resort, where he and his girlfriend, Alysha Newman, gave investigators different versions of the events leading up to the dispute.

Newman, as per a state police report, said that she and Anthony had started arguing at Lady Luck Casino inside the resort until returning to their room, where the disagreement continued and turned out to be physical. He claimed Newman struck him first, hit him in the face, and caused the linebacker to drive him to the floor.

That caused Newman to punch Anthony in the face, and he responded by tossing her to the floor, she said to the police. Newman said the linebacker had also lost her $900 cellphone before she locked herself in the bathroom and waited for the cops to respond, according to PennLive.com.

Chickillo, who skipped most of the season with a foot injury, later admitted to pushing Newman down during the incident, penned an affidavit to the police officer. Anthony was granted bail for $10,000 after being charged with simple assault, damage to property and harassment, court records show. He is scheduled to appear before the court for a preliminary hearing on 30 October.
