People can transition into the next stage of their lives at any time, albeit the exact cause is never known. The big break that most people dream of might come from either talent or general interest.

Enter PGF Nuk, a 20-year-old rapper from Chicago who is now riding high on the success of his viral single “Waddup.” The simplest way to characterize his style is as an early sound from Drill blended with more modern flows and production.

He has been rapping since 2017 and acknowledges that, when he first started, rhyming wasn’t as significant because he was too involved in the streets.

He didn’t give up his passion, though. And now, only a few years later, he has a record deal with Alamo Records and approximately 50 million YouTube views across both of his videos for “Waddup,” the most current of which includes a verse from Polo G.

PGF Nuk was introduced to rap by a friend. After one of his buddies passed away, he kept going with it as a tribute to him. The rapper was kept going by the early Chicagoan support he received, beginning with the 2019 release of his debut single, “HenDusse.”

The young Nuk from the video is rapping and dancing with his mates, but his current pointed “let each bar breathe” flow is not yet evident.

Nuk’s verses at the time had more of a throwback drill swing; the delivery and energy were perfect. He was a less upbeat Sicko Mobb at the time. As Nuk’s music evolved, so did the abrasiveness of his work. He has released singles over the years, most notably the revolutionary “Waddup” in October 2021.

Are Polo G and PGF Nuk related or cousins?

They are cousins, in January of last year, Polo G shared a video of himself rapping along to “Waddup” in his car. He was eventually introduced to the song by Nuk for a May remix.

Polo G was thrilled to rap on “Waddup” and feature in the video, which revives the spirit of early, gritty drill videos, even if at the time he was unaware that he and Nuk were cousins by marriage.

Even more popular than the original song, the remix propelled Nuk to national prominence. Nuk attracted the attention of record labels after the initial release of “Waddup,” thus he decided to sign with Rod Wave and Lil Durk’s label, Alamo Records.
