Ava Leroux seriously injured in car crash, Elon women’s basketball player
Sarah Parker Elon University’s women’s basketball player is still recovering after a catastrophic car accident that occurred on Friday.
The school stated on social media on Tuesday that Ava Leroux, a 6-4 freshman center/forward, is still in the intensive care unit (ICU) but “continues to make progress.”
Leroux, who was born in Bridgeville, Pennsylvania, is the daughter of Francois Leroux, a former NHL player who played defense for the Pittsburgh Penguins in the middle of the 1990s.For the Phoenix this season, she has averaging 5.1 points and 3.6 rebounds per game. She participated in 12 games for Elon, starting four of them.
