Carrie Ann Inaba is an American television personality, dancer, choreographer, actor, and singer who was born on January 5, 1968, in Honolulu, Hawaii. She hails from Chinese, Irish, and Japanese ancestry. When she was three years old, she enrolled in a “creative movement” class where the children performed solo dances while holding scarves. She used to love to dance in her backyard, which looked out over the Pacific.

Before earning a B.A. in world arts and culture from the University of California, Los Angeles, she attended Sophia University and the University of California, Irvine.
