Cash Gernon Father Family And Case Update: Why Was He Killed?

Cash Gernon was a four-year-old child who lived in Dallas, Texas.

On May 15, 2021, he was kidnapped from his home by the perpetrator, Darriynn Brown, who broke in at 5 a.m. local time.

A jogger spotted the little boy’s body early the next day on a residential street in the city’s Mountain Creek neighborhood.

Cash Gernon’s father’s name is unknown to us.

Monica Sherrod, Cash’s father’s girlfriend, called police just before 11 a.m. to find Cash dead – but his body had already been discovered hours before.

According to The Dallas Morning News, the boy had several wounds from “an edged knife.”

Albert Martinez, a police spokeswoman. “We are saddened, and we are very upset at what has happened to this young child,” Martinez said.” He also called the boy’s death “criminal.”

Cash Gernon: Murder Suspect And Motive

Cash Gernon’s murder suspect is Darriyan Brown, who allegedly kidnaped him from his home.

He was found after a CCTV video of a man snatching the 4-year-old in the middle of the night was released.

A second video shows the man returning to the house hours later, only to leave empty-handed.

It is also uncertain what’s  Brown’s connection to Cash.

According to WFAA, Brown had recently been arrested by police and was wearing an ankle tracking bracelet on a prior charge.

According to the Dallas Morning News, the perpetrator lives with his parents.

On Saturday night, Brown was charged with kidnapping and robbery after an investigation.

Brown is now being held in the Dallas County jail on a $750,000 bail, according to online jail reports.

However, the motive for killing Cash Gernon is still unknown.
