Her mother’s name is Marie Picciano Scott. Cheryl Scott has two older brothers named Brain and Kevin and they grew up together in Atco, Camden County, New Jersey. She attended Paul IV High School in Haddonfield, New Jersey. She later completed her college education at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, graduating in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geographical Sciences. Scott received a certification in meteorology from Mississippi State University.

Cheryl Scott has had a desire to pursue a science-related career since childhood, having developed a strong interest in science and atmospheric phenomena. The famous American journalist started her professional career as a journalist in 2006 and worked as an intern at the WCAU-NBC 10 television station in Philadelphia. Later the following year, she landed another job as a weekend weather reporter with a 24-hour agency. Caribbean television station, WSEE-TV in Erie, Pennsylvania. During this time, Cheryl was always at work as her job required her to work full-time.
