Christina Aguilera is heating up Las Vegas and has everyone talking about her 40 pound weight loss. The singer closed out 2023 by kicking off her Sin City residency at Voltaire at The Venetian Resort, grabbing lots of attention in her skimpy, couture costumes. Everyone wants to know: How has the 43-year-old gotten into such great shape? Celebwell rounded up a few of the health habits responsible for her weight loss. 

Christina is known to follow the rainbow diet, a unique way of eating that involves consuming foods of a single color on each day of the week. According to Cosmopolitan, on Monday she would eat white, followed by red, green, orange, purple, yellow, etc. How could this be beneficial? While there are no studies backing up the diet, Healthline confirms that "focusing on eating a variety of colors will increase your intake of different nutrients, giving your body an array of vitamins, minerals, and phytochemicals to benefit your health."

Chrsitina confessed in an interview that she "hated being super skinny" earlier in her career. "I think we all have our good days and our bad days in how we feel about ourselves," she said "Once I turned 21, I started filling out a little bit, and I was loving my new curves. I appreciated having a booty. I've always said that women are way more interesting to look at than men! I have a hard time looking at the early pictures of myself because I remember feeling so insecure. I would never want to relive my 20s—you're so in your own head and finding your confidence. To prepare for her Las Vegas residency, Christina spent several hours every day dancing, which helps build strength, promotes flexibility, and also helps you lose weight and promotes cardiovascular function. A 2016 study published in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine determined that people who engaged in moderate-intensity dancing were 46 percent less likely to develop heart disease or die from it than non-dancers. In comparison, moderate-intensity walkers were just 25 percent less likely to suffer heart health issues. 

Christina finds yoga "grounding and centering" and claims it "has also been instrumental in helping me." There is a laundry list of reasons to do yoga, explains Harvard Health. "Researchers found that people who practiced yoga for at least 30 minutes once a week for at least four years, gained less weight during middle adulthood," they said. "People who were overweight actually lost weight. Overall, those who practiced yoga had lower body mass indexes (BMIs) compared with those who did not practice yoga. Researchers attributed this to mindfulness. Mindful eating can lead to a more positive relationship with food and eating."

Christina revealed in 2020 that she was focusing on clean eating. "I'm not going on a diet, get over it," she told L'Officiel Italia. "Each of us is an individual and people judge you based on your differences, on what makes you unique. You have to accept that beauty and to hell with everything else."
