Crash Video; Gary Vines Dies after crashing during qualifying for the Manx Grand Prix
Matthew Shields Motorcycle enthusiast Gary Vines tragically lost his life at 33 years old during an accident at the Manx Grand Prix.
The crash took place at Ballagarey in Glen Vine, Isle of Man, this past Sunday. Vines met with the unfortunate accident during his first lap in the initial session of the 2023 Manx Grand Prix.
The Manx Grand Prix organizers expressed their sorrow in a statement: “We’re deeply saddened to confirm the untimely passing of Gary Vines. He suffered severe injuries during an accident in the first qualifying round of our 2023 event. Our hearts go out to Gary’s family, partner, and close friends during this difficult time.”
Gary Vines hailed from Colchester and was an important figure in the motorbiking community. The entire racing community mourns the loss of such a young talent.

The Manx Grand Prix Races can confirm that Gary Vines, 33, from Colchester, succumbed to injuries sustained in an accident during the first qualifying session of the 2023 event.
The accident occurred at Ballagarey on his first lap of the session.”
