He has three sisters: Rachael, Annie, and Britany. His father had been an active U.S. Marine stationed in Okinawa, Japan before coming back to the U.S. and completing his education. He subsequently worked as an accountant for several years and then opened his own business. Howard Byington III died of cancer on March 26, 2015.Cullen and Katie met at a football game sometime in the early 2000s. While they found each other attractive, Katie was in a relationship at the time. A few months later, after she and her previous boyfriend had broken up, her friend Brooke told her about a party which Cullen would be attending. At the party, they got reacquainted and started dating soon after. After only ten days of dating, they professed their love for each other. At the time, he still resided in Birmingham whereas she lived in Tuscaloosa.
