Dylan Hughes A volunteer recruit for the Santa Cruz County Fire Department died on Sunday during a training exercise, according to Santa Cruz County.
At the Ben Lomond Training Center, Daniel Lamothe, 38, of Santa Cruz, experienced medical difficulty during a combined firefighting academy training session.
Lamothe, according to the county, was given rapid medical care by qualified medical personnel who arrived on the scene, but attempts to revive him proved futile.
County Fire Chief Nate Armstrong stated, “We mourn the loss of one of our brethren. “Daniel wanted to work as a firefighter so he could give back to the neighborhood where he was born and raised.
His dedication to public service serves as an example for all of us. We lament with his friends and family over this.
His cause of death will be determined by an autopsy, according to the county.
Dan Lamothe was acknowledged as one of the band’s co-founders by Stellar Corpses and the county.
