David is 73 years old and he has been in the acting industry since 1979 to date.  Strathairn graduated from Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts, in 1970 after attending Redwood High School in Larkspur, California.

He made his acting debut in the 1984 soap opera Search for Tomorrow. He is also well known for his extensive television career. The popular HBO drama series The Sopranos featured him as Robert Wegler (2004).
