DeAnthony Miles died in Columbus shooting, Central HS Boys Varsity Football player
Sarah Scott Fulton High School football player DeAnthony Miles from Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away after being shot on Thursday night.
Knoxville police stated the 15-year-old Dobson was protecting “three girls from gunfire as several individuals went on a shooting rampage,” according to the Associated Press (via ESPN.com).
The first incident occurred inside Lisa Perry’s apartment on Thursday night, according to the AP. She then drove to the area where Dobson resided with her son, Brandon Perry, and “a few other guys, and ‘randomly fired many times.'”
According to Knoxville Police Director David Rausch, the three girls Dobson was protecting from the gunfire were uninjured. Although he doesn’t think there was a cause for it, he added that the detectives believe the shootings are “gang-related,” according to the AP.
