John Daugherty was tracked down dead inside her East Brunswick home on Thursday morning, and according to investigators, her son perpetrated the crime.

According to a joint statement from the East Brunswick Police Department and the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, the woman’s body, Carmen Gordon, 68, was discovered after someone called 911 shortly after 11 a.m. asking for a welfare check at her Cozzens Court residence.

She had fatal wounds and had already been pronounced lifeless when the cops arrived.

Officers are asking anyone with knowledge about the incident or who had surveillance footage of the area to call East Brunswick Police Detective Robert Thuring at 732-390-6990 or Detective Kevin Schroeck of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office at 732-745-4194.
