John Peck With two successful YouTube accounts and 1. 6 million endorsing followers, Bashurverse’s popularity on social media took a hit when controversies arose around the rape of minors. Basurverse had reportedly opened up on social media about being depressed and “wanting to commit suicide” sometime in 2015.
The Minecraft Youtuber and Twitch personality Brandon ‘Bashurverse’ Ashur has died at the age of 36, following complications with Covid-19 and pneumonia. Ashur had in recent years been streaming on Twitch under the new handle Toasty.
With his real name Brandon Dylan Ashur, Bashurverse’s death was announced on his sister’s Facebook account, which has since been deleted. Identified as Anesa Ashur, Bashurverse’s sister wrote a touching message sharing the sad news to her fans and followers that has since been shared by a fan on Reddit.
Bashurverse then went and made a 46-minute video explaining the situation from his point of view: Here’s a breakdown of what was said: Bashur had a difficult childhood, and is no longer in contact with his biological mother. At the age of 17, he fell in love with a girl online and had his heart broken.
When did Asher rape a girl?
There were others who saw him for his criminal charges and nothing else. On April 8th, 2015, Asher uploaded another video in reply to rumors being spread about him raping a 10-year-old girl when he was 23. It was clear from his tone and the constant cursing that the rumors annoyed him.
Quitting YouTube. Bashur’s blank YouTube Channel (Image via Bashurverse on YouTube) On April 24th, 2017, Bashur had been wrestling with the controversy for years, and the controversy won. He completely erased himself from the internet. He changed the screen name of his YouTube channel to just a dash.
The video was taken down 30 minutes after it was uploaded but was reuploaded by several other users. It was during this time that a popular creator known as Keemstar began to get involved in Asher’s situation. Keemstar is known for his videos on YouTube news and controversies.
Asher stated that he didn’t leave the house for nearly 10 years after the event. Even when he moved, he became a shut-in and would only occasionally leave to see his adoptive mother.
Asher was 18 at the time, and she had just turned 15. Her parents didn’t approve of their relationship, so much so that they hired a private investigator to keep an eye on the two in case anything went south. The couple would talk online through online messaging services but never got intimate physically.
Asher was then woken up one day with a knock on his door. He was introduced to the private investigator and then arrested for the chat history with his 15-year-old girlfriend. He was legally charged with a first-degree felony for unlawful transactions with a minor under 16 years of age.
He is attributed as one of the factors that led to Asher’s rapid mental health deterioration.

What was the charge against Bashur?
They pressed charges, and Bashur was charged with unlawful transaction with a minor. The charge was later amended to sexual misconduct. He paid a fine, and was credited for time served. Bashur had a difficult childhood, and is no longer in contact with his biological mother. At the age of 17, he fell in love with a girl online and had his heart broken. He then became close with his best friend’s sister, who at the time was 14 years old.
On Dec. 30, 2004, Brandon was arrested and charged with Unlawful Transaction W/ A Minor. The speculation was that this was a 20-year-old man having inappropriate online relations with a 13-year-old girl … a charge that Brandon has vehemently denied.
YouTube gamer-turned-lightning rod Keemstar, with his DramaAlert channel that specializes in raking the YouTube gossip scene, seized on the arrest news when it was exposed earlier this month, and reached out to Bashurverse about the potentially explosive information. Bashurverse then went and made a 46-minute video explaining the situation from his point of view:
It all begins with a YouTube channel named Bashurverse, run by Brandon Dylan Ashur. A gamer/challenge channel with over 1.7 million subscribers, Bashurverse has a manic energy that appeals to young people — stick a pin in that fact, we’ll circle back to it in a second.
SkyDoesMinecraft, who was allegedly looking into doing a partnership opportunity with Bashurverse and others, apparently did a background check, which revealed Bashurverse’s arrest record. Somehow the information regarding the arrest leaked out.
Brandon was let go with what he terms “a slap on the wrist” and as his charges don’t warrant Sex Offender status, he was not placed on the Sex Offender Registry, which would have required him to disclose his status and location on a publicly available watch list for life.
