His strategic partnership with Mexican media giant Televisa further expanded the reach of Telemundo’s programs across multiple platforms in Mexico.

Browne’s illustrious career spanned various roles, showcasing his expertise and dedication to media. Prior to his Telemundo tenure, he served as executive vp of NBC News in New York and later took the helm as president and G.M. of WTVJ, NBC’s owned-and-operated station in Miami. His involvement in NBC’s acquisition of the Telemundo network in 2001 demonstrated his pivotal role in shaping the industry landscape.

Hailing from Toms River, New Jersey, Browne’s journey began at the University of South Carolina, where he excelled in football and track. He later graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

With a remarkable career spanning over a decade at CBS News, Browne transitioned to NBC, where he ascended from Miami bureau chief to executive news director, overseeing prominent programs like the Today show and contributing to the creation of the primetime news magazine Dateline.

In recognition of his exceptional contributions, Browne was inducted into the Broadcasting and Cable Hall of Fame in 2008.
