Sarah Scott His clinical specialties include medical and surgical management of glaucoma and anterior segment diseases. He performs glaucoma filtering surgery (trabeculectomy and drainage devices); minimally-invasive glaucoma surgery; and routine and complex cataract surgery.
Dr. Ehrlich's research seeks to understand and address the quality of life and functional impact of severe vision impairment, especially among older adults. His research interests include: low vision and vision rehabilitation; aging and vision; survey research; and the epidemiology of eye disease. One current focus of his work is to develop, validate, and apply innovative patient-centered metrics to measure the impact of chronic vision loss on function and quality of life. Dr. Ehrlich is also interested in the influence of vision and multisensory impairments on cognitive, psychosocial, and physical health among older adults. He has a long-standing interest in international research collaborations and global ophthalmology. The overarching goal of his research is to generate scientific findings to improve wellbeing and prevent disability and blindness.
