Apart from being an important member of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Shukriu also works as a teacher of archaeology at the University of Pristina. From 1995 to 2000, Edi Shukriu chaired the Democratic League of Kosovo's women's forum. She is also an important poet and writer of non-fiction works.
