Geddy became the lead singer of the Canadian rock band, ‘Rush’, established in the Willowdale suburb of Toronto, Canada in 1968. He released ‘You Can’t Fight It’, together with drummer John Rutsey, as part of ‘Rush’s’ first single, ‘Not Fade Away’ in 1973.

Geddy sang, ‘Take Off’, the first hit single for the Canadian comedy album, ‘The Great White North’, in 1981. The album sold one million copies and earned a triple-platinum certification.
