GoFundMe| Brooke Winek’s Daughters Following Her Murder in California Catfish Triple-Murder
Sophia Carter Brooke Winek GoFundMe: A GoFundMe has been established for the two surviving teenage children of Brooke Winek, who was one of three family members slain in what appears to be a catfishing incident involving one of the surviving teenage daughters.
Austin Lee Edwards, age 28, has been identified as the deceased suspect in a Thanksgiving holiday triple murder in Riverside, California.
The victims have been named as Mark Winek, age 69, his wife Sharie Winek, age 65, and their daughter Brooke Winek, age 38.
Edwards is alleged to have posed as a teenager online in order to woo Brooke’s 15-year-old daughter into a romantic connection.
He then proceeded from Virginia to California before perpetrating the horrifying triple murder: murdering three family members and kidnapping a teenager.
Later, he was slain in a gunfight with police.
Via GoFundMe:
During the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, Mark, Sharie, and Brooke Winek were brutally murdered. Mark Winek was a devoted father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and Arlington High School coach. Sharie Winek was a kind and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt who valued time spent with her family. Brooke Winek was a cherished, big-hearted single mother who found her greatest joy in watching her daughter participate in the Arlington High School Color Guard. This GoFundMe will help pay for the continued support of the two adolescent children, who recently lost their mother and will require future care. Thank you for your support during this difficult time. Mark, Sharie, and Brooke will be missed terribly.
As of Tuesday night, over $54,000 of the fund’s $100,000 gold goal has been attained.
