Halle Berry was born on August 14, 1966 in Cleveland, Ohio. She first came into the spotlight when she won the Miss Teen All-American Pageant. She became a model afterwards.

She got into her first TV series, 1989’s Living Dolls. In Spike Lee’s Jungle Fever, she reportedly refused to bathe for days before starting on her role as a crack addict. It paid off because the role provided her big screen breakthrough.

In 2002, she won an Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance in Monster’s Ball. She is also one of the highest paid actresses in Hollywood.
