Doojoon

Real Name – Yoon Doo Joon

Doojoon is the leader, lead rapper, and vocalist of Highlight. He was born on the 4^th of July 1989 in Goyang, South Korea. He hails from a family of four comprising of him, his parents as well as an older sister named Doori. Doojoon initially aspired to be a physical education teacher. He, however, caught the music bug after watching an MTV documentary and pleaded with his parents to enroll him in music school which they did. Despite becoming a popular k-pop idol, Doojoon has not forgotten his academics. He has two college degrees, one in musicology and one in broadcast entertainment. Additionally, he is also a talented actor and has appeared in several k-dramas. Doojoon loves playing soccer and his favorite color is blue. Real Name – Yang Yo Seob

Yoseob is the main vocalist of Highlight. He was born on the 5^th of January 1990 in Seoul, the capital of South Korea. This makes him the oldest Highlight member. Yoseob hails from a family of four and has just one sibling, an older sister named Hae-yeon. He first fell in love with music as a result of the influence of American R&B singer, Brian McKnight. He subsequently explored other genres of music, and eventually joined a high school band. This marked the beginning of his journey as a k-pop idol. Yoseob has so far contributed to the official soundtracks of several Korean dramas including My Princess, All My Love and Happy Birthday. He is also an actor and has featured in several TV dramas as well as theatrical productions of Zorro and Cinderella. The vocalist is 5 feet 7 inches tall and his weight is given as 56kg or 123lbs.

Gikwang

Real Name – Lee Gi Kwang

Gikwang is another multitalented Highlight member. He is not only the group’s main dancer but also the lead vocalist as well as visual. The dancer cum singer was born on the 30^th of March 1990 in Naju, South Korea. He fell in love with hip-hop at an early age, and with his family’s blessings, actively pursued a music career. Prior to becoming a Highlight member, Gikwang first gained viral attention as a solo artist. He used the name, AJ, and dropped a few mini albums. He even got to open for Lady Gaga during his six-month stint as a soloist. Asides music, Gikwang is also an award-winning actor. Dongwoon

Real Name – Son Dong Woon

Dongwoon is the lead vocalist and rapper of Highlight. He was born on the 6^th of June 1991 in Busan, South Korea. This makes him the youngest Highlight member. The singer/rapper hails from a family of four. His father is a college professor, named Il-rak, and he has an older brother named Dongha. Dongwoon is multilingual and speaks Korean, Chinese and English languages. He is also a multi-instrumentalist and plays the piano and violin. Asides music, Dongwoon is also a talented actor like most of his bandmates. He has featured in several theatrical productions including Catch Me If You Can, The Great Gatsby, Hourglass etc. Dongwoon is 5 feet 11 inches tall and his weight is given as 64kg or 141lbs. Info and Trivia About Highlight

The group originally debuted under the name, Beast, in 2009. They, however, had to change names after leaving their former record label who owned the rights to it.

Highlight has so far featured in two reality TV shows namely MTV B2ST (2009) and Showtime: Burning the Beast (2014).

The band has designed their own sneaker brand known as Beast X Jim Rickey.

Their official fan club goes by the name, Light, and their official fan color is dark grey.

Highlight was previously signed to Cube Entertainment. They, however, formed their own record label, Around Us Entertainment, in December 2016.
