John McEnroe is an American former professional tennis player, known for his shot-making and volleying skills, his rivalries with Bjorn Borg and Jimmy Connors, and his confrontational on-court behavior, which frequently landed him in trouble with umpires and tennis authorities.

John was married to Academy Award winner Tatum O’Neal, the daughter of actor Ryan O’Neal, in 1986. Tatum is the youngest person ever to win a competitive Academy Award, winning at age 10 for her performance as Addie Loggins in Paper Moon.

The union between John and Tatum produced three children – two sons and a daughter before having divorced in 1994. After their divorce, they both were awarded joint custody of the children, but in 1998 McEnroe was awarded sole custody due to O’Neal’s addiction to heroin.

Kevin McEnroe, the first son of John and Tatum, was born on May 23, 1986, in Los Angeles. Kevin is an author and a novelist by profession. He graduated from Columbia University with an MFA. Kevin McEnroe authored his first novel ‘Our Town’ in 2015. The book is inspired by the troubled life of his grandmother, actress Joanna Moore. He credits her and calls his grandmother his ‘guardian angel.’

Sean is the second son of John and Tatum. He was born on September 23, 1987, exactly sixteen months after his brother was born. In the year 2015, Sean changed his last name from McEnroe to O’Neal, however, he claimed it was nothing against his dad but a means to have his own path. Sean got married to a beautiful lady called Niamh in September 2020.

Emily McEnroe is the third and only female child of John McEnroe Tatum O’Neal. Emily was born on May 10, 1991. Emily’s dream is to become an actress and she is working earnestly towards that.
