. Geoffrey Thorne, an American screenwriter, novelist, and actor, was born on January 20, 1970. Thorne is an American who was born in the United States. Thorne began writing professionally after a successful career as a television actor, portraying police detective Wilson Sweet in the television series In the Heat of the Night from 1989 until 1994. His storey “The Soft Room” won Second Prize in Simon & Schuster’s sixth annual Strange New Worlds anthology. He went on to write other pieces for a variety of media tie-in anthologies and the Star Trek: Titan novel Sword of Damocles. Contributions to Flying Pen Press’s anthology Space Grunts, MV Media’s Steamfunk anthology, and Ellery Queen’s Mystery Magazine are among his other works. Thorne has collaborated with Kickstart Entertainment on the television adaptations of two of their properties, Of Bitter Souls and Sword of Dracula. He worked as a writer on Law & Order: Criminal Intent (season 9), Ben 10: Ultimate Alien (season 2), and TNT’s Leverage (seasons 3, 4, and 5). Thorne was selected by Lion Forge Entertainment and NBC-Universal in 2014 to relaunch the global fan favourite TV series KNIGHT RIDER in the form of a comic book. Thorne is also the co-creator of Phantom Canyon, a Pendant Productions audio drama. Thorne is also a co-founder and writing partner of GENRE 19, a studio he co-founded in 2008 with artist Todd Harris.
