Savan Kotecha (born Savan Harish Kotecha) is an American composer and record producer of Indian ancestry who hails from the city of Austin, in the state of Texas. Kotecha has collaborated on a number of successful songs, including Britney Spears’ “If U Seek Amy” and “I Wanna Go,” Usher’s “DJ Got Us Fallin’ in Love,” Ariana Grande’s “Problem,” One Direction’s “What Makes You Beautiful,” Kiss You,” and “Live While We’re Young,” and Maroon 5’s “One More Night,” among others. Kotecha has a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Kotecha’s songs have reached number one status all over the globe, having sold more than 100 million copies worldwide. He has received nine BMI Awards, seven ASCAP Awards, and two Billboard Music Awards for his work. Kotecha may now be seen on the American edition of Simon Cowell’s The X Factor, where she serves as a voice producer, a position that she previously had on the UK version of the programme.
