Dylan Hughes Originally born on September 9, 1978, Shane Courtney Battier is a former American professional basketball player who most recently played for the Miami Heat of the National Basketball Association (NBA) (NBA). He has also represented the United States at the international level. In addition to being born and reared in Birmingham, Michigan, Battier attended Detroit Country Day School in neighbouring Beverly Hills, where he was honoured with many honours, including the 1997 Mr. Basketball title. He was moved to the Houston Rockets five years later, and he was then traded back to the Memphis Grizzlies for the 2010–2011 NBA regular season. In 2011, he signed a contract with the Miami Heat.
