Maneet Chauhan, who has been featured as a judge on ‘Chopped’ in Food Network, is recently known for competing in Food Network TV’s arduous Tournament of Champions II.

She has won the championship title after four rounds of head-to-head culinary challenges in which she competed against 16 of the country’s greatest chefs in a tournament-style competition.

Before this competition, she has also been on The Next Iron Chef, The View on ABC, Iron Chef America, the Today show on NBC, and as a judge on the finale of Food Network’s Worst Cooks in America.

President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama had invited Chauhan to the White House for the Annual Easter Egg Roll Hunt 2014.

Yes, Maneet Chauhan is originally from India; however, she made her career in the United States. So, she is considered an Indian American chef.

She completed her bachelor’s degree at the Manipal University’s WelcomGroup Graduate School of Hotel Administration, Manipal, India. After which, she moved to the US and joined the Culinary Institute of Americain Hyde Park, New York.

She started as an apprentice chef in Hotel Taj, India, working as a manager for a restaurant in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.

She became the opening executive chef at Vermilion in Chicago at the age of 27. She then relocated to New York City to launch Vermilion, for which she was named ‘Best Import to New York’ by Time Out Magazine.

As of today, Chauhan resides in Nashville, Tennessee, where she owns four restaurants with her husband Vivek Deora, each with its own distinct cuisine.

Chauhan Ale & Masala House is a gastropub fusion restaurant, Tansuo is an elegant Chinese cuisine, The Mockingbird is an enhanced American diner serving comfort food with a global twist, and Chaatable is an Indian street food chaat house.

Her cooking approach is defined as “global fusion” with Indian influences. In 2020, Chauhan released her book ‘Chaat’ with her co-author Jody Eddy.

On may 29, 2007 Maneet married Vivek Deora, who is an entrepreneur and a businessman. He is the owner of over twenty-three restaurants all around the world.

Together they have two children, a boy and a girl. Together, they live a very comfortable life in Nashville and grow to a new level professionally.

“Chocolate Meltdown: Hershey’s After Dark,” is the new show on Food Network that will pit experienced pastry chefs against one another in a struggle to produce show-stopping chocolate works of art, which has been premiered from 25th September.

The show is judged by Ralph Attanasia and Maneet Chauhan, where the winner will get a year’s supply of Hersey’s candy, Hersheypark vacation, and cash prize in each episode.
