Tony Lee Dow is an American actor, film producer, director, and sculptor. He is best known for his role in the television sitcom Leave It to Beaver, which ran in primetime from 1957 to 1963.

Dow played Wally Cleaver, the older son of June and Ward Cleaver, and the older brother of Theodore “Beaver” Cleaver. It was reported by his wife, Lauren, on July 26, 2022, that the actor has passed on.

Tony Dow is still alive,  according to statements from his son & management. Tony Dow’s son and management team have confirmed that the actor is still alive, with his representatives attributing the earlier misinformation to the distraught state of the ‘Leave It To Beaver’ actor’s wife.

“This is a difficult time,” Dow’s son Christopher Dow said in a statement posted on the actor’s Facebook page. “Dad is at home, under hospice care, and in his last hours. My wife and I are by his side along with many friends that have visited. He has a fighting heart.”

According to Dow’s management, his wife, Laure, believed her husband was dead and passed that message on to his team, according to an updated Facebook post on Tuesday afternoon.
