It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a true hero, Jack Mozingo, who touched the lives of many through his selfless service as a firefighter. Jack commenced his illustrious fire career with the Kinston Department of Fire & Rescue in July 1993, dedicating himself to protecting and serving the community. In 2007, he continued his incredible journey with the Greenville Fire Rescue, where he made an indelible mark as both an outstanding firefighter and an even better person.
The Kinston Department of Fire and Rescue extends their deepest condolences and heartfelt prayers to the Mozingo family during this difficult time. The loss of such an exceptional individual leaves a void that can never be filled. Jack’s memory will be cherished, and his legacy will continue to inspire us all.
The North Lenoir Fire & Rescue family also mourns the passing of their brother, Jack Mozingo, who was not only a dedicated volunteer firefighter with North Lenoir Fire & Rescue but also a career firefighter with Greenville, N.C. Fire/Rescue for over 15 years. Jack had previously dedicated 14 years of his life in service to the Kinston Department of Fire and Rescue. Their thoughts and prayers are with Jack’s family and their fellow brothers and sisters at Greenville Fire/Rescue as they navigate this difficult period.
