At around 3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19, San San police officers responded to a reported shooting in the 1200 block of Wallace Street. Two adults had been shot, according to the caller’s call notes, in the area of the location’s parking lot.

When the police arrived, it was discovered that a husband and wife had been involved in an incident that had left them both dead. A witness to the incident also found an unharmed young child who had been a witness to the occurrence there. Since then, the anonymous child has moved to the San Saba region to live with other family members.

Ben Henniger, a musician, has been named as one of the deceased.

San Saba Chief of Police John Bauer described the scenario as “shocking and tragic.” “Words are insufficient to convey how deeply we sympathize with the friends and families of those impacted. I’m incredibly appreciative of the efforts made by our first responders who, in spite of a terrifying circumstance, moved swiftly and conducted themselves with the utmost professionalism. It’s a sad day for our entire community, and we’ll investigate the incident thoroughly.

There are currently no recurring threats to the public, according to the San Saba Police and Sheriff’s Departments.
