Born on 17 December 1972, John Abraham is an Indian film actor and former model who started his professional career as a model through appearance in several advertisements and music videos before making his film debut in 2003 with Jism. He first gained wider recognition through his performance in 2004 box office hit Dhoom and since then, John has starred in several critically and commercially successful films so far including Zinda, Baabul, Dostana, Force, New York, Madras Café and Shootout at Wadala.

In addition to acting, John Abraham made his debut as a producer with Vicky Donor in 2012 and then established his own production company, John Abraham Entertainment under which he produced his second successful film, Madras Café. He started dating his debut film Jism co-star Bipasha Basu in 2002 but after staying in a relationship for several years, the couple ended their relationship in early 2011. John Abraham is currently married to an NRI financial analyst and investment banker Priya Runchal, whom he had met in 2010.
