Karen Reuter was an American actress who became famous for appearing as the lead makeup artist on the Netflix TV series “Orange Is The New Black” For her role in the OITNB by the Artists & Hairstylists Guild, Reuter was actually eligible for the Best Contemporary Makeup Award. Prior to this, she also worked on The Sopranos, Project Runway, and Step Up 3D. According to its obituary, she first got involved in make-up through horror films.
Karen Reuter died at the age of 62, due to cancer, on January 24, 2019. Last September, she became critically ill and also stopped appearing on the ‘Orange Is The New Black’ show. From 2013 to 2014, Reuter first worked in the series and was a co-key make-up artist in 20 display shows. Furthermore, between 2015 and 2016, she became the director of the makeup department for OITNB.
