Kevin Hart is an American comedian and actor who has starred in a number of Hollywood movies including Jumanji and its sequel, and Night School.

Kevin Darnell Hart was born in Philadelphia on July 6, 1979, to Nancy Hart and Henry Robert Witherspoon. He has an older brother named Robert.

Nancy Hart was a systems analyst for the Office of Student Registration and Financial Services at the University of Pennsylvania.

She attended Pierce Junior College and afterward earned a B.A. in Commerce and Engineering from Drexel University. She began her career at the university as a programmer/analyst at the Office of Institutional Research in 1988.

His father was a cocaine addict who was in and out of jail throughout most of his childhood. Due to this, he was raised by his mother.

As a way to cope with his troubled family life, he turned to comedy as an outlet. Fortunately, his relationship with his father improved after his recovery.

His mother passed away in 2007.
