John Peck La La Anthony is showing off her birthday suit! The star, who turned 40 on June 25, celebrated her special day by flaunting her fabulous figure in a tiny swimsuit. La La works out with Kirk Meyers, founder of The Dogpound. "I come here almost every single day and Kirk, the owner, has become one of my closest friends and a real inspiration in my life for getting myself together and focusing on myself," she told E! "I definitely have lost weight. I definitely feel better about myself, more toned, have more energy." She also added to HollywoodLife, "I love to box."
During the pandemic, La La "learned how necessary self-care is," she told Health in April 2021. "Once you start doing it, you realize that you have to find ways to recharge and rejuvenate—even if it's just taking five minutes to meditate. I think wellness starts with mental health. You have to make sure you're doing things that feed your soul. As women, we tend to neglect ourselves, and we really need to give ourselves the same love we give everyone else."
"With looking right, it's mostly about your eating," she told HollywoodLife. "And, I feel like a lot of us struggle with that. I'm trying to stay consistent in making better choices when it comes to food. I can't say I'm always great at it, but I try to keep that in mind. You can't work your a-s off in the gym and then just throw it all away by eating horrible."
"I'm always staying hydrated," La La told HollywoodLife. Hydration is key, especially if you are active like LaLa, because you naturally lose water through your breath, perspiration, urine and bowel movements. "For your body to function properly, you must replenish its water supply by consuming beverages and foods that contain water," explains the Mayo Clinic. How much water do you need? While the number varies according to age, activity level, food intake, and other factors, the U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine determined that an adequate daily fluid intake is about 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) of fluids a day for men and 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) of fluids a day for women.
La La detailed her daily diet to HollywoodLife. She starts the day with a protein shake. For lunch, she eats a piece of fish or chicken with vegetables and a nearly identical dinner. Snacks might be a protein bar. Occasionally she will indulge in a piece of chocolate. However, she tries to swap her favorite (which include Nestle Crunch) with healthier alternatives. "I've found other things that taste healthy, like dark chocolate. After a while, you train your taste buds to not want it as much," she told the New York Post.
"My dad has always said that you have to love yourself from the inside. I used to be like, 'Yeah, yeah, OK.' But now I know it's a really powerful statement. If you walk into a room with confidence, other people feed off that energy. That confidence starts from the inside, and people see it from the outside," she told Health.
When she wants to get into shape, she sets goals and does challenges. IN 2013 she dropped 15 pounds by joining "60 Days of Fitness." "It's 60 days straight of working out and eating well," she told the New York Post.
As part of the challenge, La La started working out with a group, going on three mile runs together and mixing in strength training workouts. "In the beginning I could barely walk it. I thought I was going to need a wheelchair. Now I'm running more than half of it. It's the best cardio ever," she said.
