On Saturday, December 3, 2022, Ian Robert Shumaker of Bellingham, Massachusetts, passed away at the age of 11.

The Shumakers’ son Ian was born on March 23, 2011, to Corey and Beth Smolak.

Ian had a soul that was far older than his actual age. He cherished learning about the past, listening to music, watching Star Wars, Harry Potter, and Hamilton, playing Minecraft and Legos, and making others laugh. He cherished being Crosby’s big brother. He was constantly playing with him, instructing him, and watching out for him. Being Crosby’s big brother was, in his own words, his favorite role.

Anyone who knew Ian was also aware of his ardent devotion to the holiday.
