The fifth murder in 48 hours, which Columbus police have identified as a 15-year-old girl, has left the neighborhood with more questions than answers, according to detectives.

Maria Fernanda Guerra-Sandoval’s body was discovered around 5:25 p.m. on Monday in the 4700 block of Sullivant Avenue on the Far West Side. No charges have been brought in relation to her passing.

However, police have detained and charged a suspect in connection with the stabbing deaths of one man and one woman that occurred early on Monday on the Far West Side during a purported break-in.

Jacob Stratton, 24, died, and Christopher Campos Hernandez, 29, has been charged with murder. He’ll probably get more charges down the road,

Police said that when they arrived, they discovered Hernandez fighting with Stratton and the woman who had been stabbed, known only by the initials A.S.

Stratton, who went to Bowling Green State University for college and Hilliard High School, was declared deceased at 5:21 am on Monday. The woman received hospital treatment before being released.

According to facts discovered after an autopsy, police initially suspected Stratton had been shot, but they later stated that they did not believe anybody else had been shot during the altercation.
