Representative Katie Porter was one of the powerful women on the other side of the aisle who made surprising statements in response to Donald Trump’s election to the presidency and an anti-race encounter.

After bravely confronting CEOs and legislators, learning about their activities, and interrogating them until they were perplexed, the majority rule figure has recently become a rising celebrity.

In 2003, Porter wed Matthew Hoffman, and the two became parents to three kids. She said during her campaign that verbal and physical abuse had been a feature of her marriage.

She asked for a restraining order against him in 2013. In the same year, they divorced. Porter, who is now a single mother, has custody of their children. The name Betsy was given to her daughter by Elizabeth Warren.
