Maura Tracy Healey (born February 8, 1971) is an American lawyer and politician who has served as Massachusetts’ 73rd governor since 2023. She was elected governor of Massachusetts in 2022, defeating the Republican opponent, former state legislator Geoff Diehl. She is a member of the Democratic Party.

Healey was appointed chief of the Civil Rights Division by Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley in 2007, where she lead the state’s challenge against the federal Defence of Marriage Act. She was later named Chief of the Public Protection and Advocacy Bureau, then Chief of the Business and Labour Bureau, before quitting in 2013 to run for Attorney General in 2014.
