Cheryl Williams is the mother of the late Mike Williams.

Mike Williams, originally known as Jerry Michael Williams is the murder victim. His body was found in October 2017 near Tallahassee. He went missing after he went duck hunting in the Tallahassee, Florida, United States. Initially, he was presumed to have drowned in Lake Seminole, a large reservoir located in the southwest corner of Georgia along its border with Florida;  later it was suspected that he had been the victim of foul play, possibly at another location.

Futher, authorities confirmed him as a victim of homicide. Denise Williams was apprehended and charged with first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and accessory. In addition to that, she was found guilty after Winchester, Denise’s second husband testified to shooting Michael aka Mike at Denise’s command after the failure of their first plan; to stage a boating accident. In 2019, she was sentenced to life in prison.

Her exact age and birth date are still undercover. However, her son, Mike, the victim was 31-year-old when he went missing. Sadly, he died on December 16, 2000. He was shot and killed by his best friend, Brian Winchester at the Denise William’s behest.

Cheryl’s tenacity, courage, and grit kept the investigation alive when others gave up. In fact, she never believed the fiction her son drowned in a duck hunting accident and was eaten by alligators without leaving a trace.

Why Did Denise Williams Murder Him?

She was convicted on the charges of first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and accessory after the fact was a staggering rebuke to nearly two decades of lies and denial.

It was reported that Mike’s best friend, Brian Winchester, who was having an affair with Denise for years, took to the witness stand and detailed their plot to kill Mike so they could be together and spare Denise the public shame of a divorce.

Consequently, in December 2019, she was indicted after the prosecutors believed that Denise allegedly began conspiring with Winchester in March 2000, nine months before her first husband disappeared. However, she made an appeal in January 2020 on the basis of a lack of evidence of her involvement in the murder.

Although, the murder conviction was overturned, but the conspiracy to commit murder conviction was upheld including the 30-year sentence that accompanied it.
