Despite being from Redruth, Cornwall, Mick Fleetwood spent a significant amount of his early years in Egypt and Norway. In London, Fleetwood settled after deciding at the age of 15 to follow his musical interests.

There, he co-founded Fleetwood Mac with Peter Green, Jeremy Spencer, and Bob Brunning. In 1974, following a series of album releases and lineup changes, the band moved to the US. Fleetwood then invited Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham to join.

Buckingham and Nicks had a significant impact on Fleetwood Mac’s eventual commercial success, especially the well-known album Rumours, but Fleetwood herself was mostly responsible for the band’s long-term stability.

Despite much talk of a new album, Lindsay Buckingham/Christine McVie by Buckingham and Christine McVie was released in 2017. The announcement of Buckingham’s resignation from Fleetwood Mac came the next year. In 1998, Fleetwood Mac was given a spot in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
