Mouni is a trained Kathak dancer, spending at least 30 minutes per day getting her sweat on, per Her Zindagi. Her social media feed is filled with photos of herself showing off her famous moves. What makes dancing an effective workout? Not only does it build strength and promote flexibility, but helps you lose weight and even promotes cardiovascular function. A 2016 study published in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine determined that people who engaged in moderate-intensity dancing were 46 percent less likely to develop heart disease or die from it than non-dancers. In comparison, moderate-intensity walkers were just 25 percent less likely to suffer heart health issues.

Mouni maintains a healthy diet, avoiding large meals and instead, eating mini meals every two hours to keep herself from experiencing hunger pangs and revving her metabolism. She has a few guilty pleasures, including junk food, Chinese food, and Sprite. However, she tries to cook her own meals and avoid eating out the majority of the time. 

Hydration is a big part of Mouni's health effort. Her Zindagi claims she drinks at least 10 glasses per day, which is beneficial in removing toxins and keeps her skin glowing. According to the U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine men should drink about 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) of fluids a day and women about 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) of fluids.

Mouni spends a lot of time walking. "Walking away from all my worries like…." she captioned a snap from one of her walks. Going for a daily walk can be a game changer in terms of exercise, especially at a brisk speed. One study published in JAMA Internal Medicine found that walking at a brisk pace for about 30 minutes a day led to a reduced risk of heart disease, cancer, dementia, and death, compared with walking a similar number of steps but at a slower pace.

In an Instagram post, Mouni revealed that yoga and meditation helped change her mindset and positively impacted her body. "It is so so imp to include yoga in daily life for a person's body, mind and soul," she wrote. " Start slow and steady, simple things, what your body can adapt quickly, slowly you ll see your body and mind asking for more. Replace the craving for bad with the good. Slow & steady. One tiny change at a time." She added that when she practices "physical and mental discipline," it has a "positive impact" on her entire day.
