American actor Omri Katz is now retired. His roles in Eerie Indiana, Matinee, Adventures in Dinosaur City, Hocus Pocus, and the soap opera Dallas can be seen on television and in movies. When he was cast as John Ross Ewing III in the serial opera Dallas in 1983, he was barely seven years old.

This marked the beginning of his acting career. The tale revolves around oil tycoon J.R. Ewing’s ascent to power and subsequent fall.

Yoram Katz (the father) and Rina Rotten Katz are Omri Katz’s parents (mother). His parents migrated from Israel to the US. Los Angeles, California, was the birthplace of Omri and his siblings not long after the family’s immigration to the country.

Midway through Season 5, Katz joined the show and continued as a regular until the show’s end in 1991. His notoriety increased throughout the course of 149 episodes as did the audience for the program.
