As fans patiently wait for season 5 of Outlander, they can have fun watching the main stars — Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe — have the most hilarious fights on social media.

The latest beef took place after Sam shared a shirtless photo to say he had a terrible experience hiking that left him with a nasty sunburn, but that is not all.

Sam did not reveal exactly where he was, but he confessed that he took the wrong road and accidentally ended on an American Airforce base. That is when his troubles began.

The beloved Scottish actor, best known for his acclaimed role as Jamie Fraser in the Starz series, was held by authorities because he had no documents on him to identify himself.

The 38-year-old star wrote: “This was just before I took an “alternate” route down… Then got trapped in a forest of cacti and eventually arrived on an American Airforce base. I couldn’t leave as I had no ID and shouldn’t be there. Thankfully called an Uber driver who was ex-military (Cheers Brent!) and he got me out!!! Hiking is good for you. When you have a military driver…. (And let’s not talk about the sunburn)😎”

Sam’s Outlander co-star asked him if he was okay and went on to ridicule him: “Hey @SamHeughan looks like you’ve lost your clothes and your arm seems to be broken at an unfortunate angle …. are you okay? Need help?? Did someone mug you..??? ( Oh and also … 😬… your hat is the wrong way round …😬) .”

One fan said: “Oh man, been…well, not exactly there, but it ended up in poison ivy on one of our butts, followed by popping out right at the back door of a surprised family having dinner. No permanent damage all around!”

Another commenter claimed: “Lol. Better watch out! Those military installations can be serious business! They could have arrested you as a foreign agent. Glad you got out of there ok!”

A third person replied: “Sunburn? I see no sunburn…just a smile as radiant as the 🌝 and eyes as blue as 🌊. Oh boy….never forget the sunscreen! Learned that the hard way! Pure joy at being alive. 🙌🙌”
