Sarah Parker Irish construction tycoon Pallonji Shapoorji Mistry, who was of Indian descent and was worth $1 billion, lived from 1929 until 2022. He served as the Shapoorji Pallonji Group’s chairman and a significant stakeholder in the Tata Group, the largest private conglomerate in India. He was among the richest persons on the planet.
For his achievements in commerce and industry, the Indian government honored him with the Padma Bhushan in January 2016. In his 2008 book The Moguls of Real Estate, Manoj Namburu included a brief history of Mistry. Mistry, 93, passed away in Mumbai on June 28, 2022.

Mistry has two daughters and two boys. His younger son, Cyrus Mistry, held the position of chairman of the Tata group for a period, while his older son, Shapoor Mistry (b. 1964), manages the Shapoorji Pallonji group. Laila is Mistry’s elder daughter, while Aloo, his younger daughter, is already married.
