Advanced SearchPamela Dawber is an American actress who rose to fame for her lead role in the television sitcoms ‘Mork & Mindy’ and ‘My Sister Sam’. Born in Detroit, she was clear from an early age that she wanted to become an entertainer. Early on, she thought of making a career in singing but soon dropped the idea after having modelled for a couple of fashion shows. She was so enticed by the aspect of modelling that she gave up her studies completely. She moved to New York and started modelling professionally. Soon, she made her acting debut with the popular sitcom ‘Mork & Mindy’. The show not just gave her a breakthrough but went on to provide her with a defining character that shaped much of her acting career. Her portrayal of poker-faced Mindy who eventually falls in love with the comedic alien Mork was much loved by all. She soon followed it with a spellbinding performance in ‘My Sister Sam’ in the titular role of Samantha. She has also done a couple of movies and television films. After the birth of her second child in 1990s, her acting career has taken a back seat as she is busy in her family life.
