Paul Westerberg parents: Meet Mary Louise Westerberg, Harold Robert Westerberg
The son of Mary Louise (née Philipp) and Harold (‘Hal’) Robert Westerberg (1918-2003), a worker at Cadillac-General Motors, Westerberg was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Including Anne, Julie, Phil, and Mary, he has four siblings. In 1987, he wed Lori Bizer, his first wife.
Following their divorce, he wed Laurie Lindeen, an author and former guitarist for Zuzu’s Petals. 2014 saw their divorce.
In Westerberg’s solo album Suicaine Gratification, 49:00 and “Whatever Makes You Happy,” their son Johnny (born 1998) is most likely heard singing. Westerberg suffered a terrible injury to his fretting hand in an accident in 2006 while attempting to remove candle wax with a screwdriver, rendering his left hand’s ring finger numb.
Following the release of his third solo album, Westerberg has mostly been releasing songs that he created and recorded himself in his home studio in the basement. Additionally, he used the alias Grandpaboy to make two LPs and an EP.
Westerberg published music in 2017 under the names Dry Wood Garage and User 964848511 on Bandcamp.
