English singer, songwriter, and musician Polly Jean Harvey MBE was born on October 9, 1969. She is skilled with a variety of instruments but is best renowned for her vocals and guitar playing.

In his adolescence, Harvey started studying the saxophone and joined the eight-piece instrumental ensemble Bologne, directed by composer Andrew Dickson. Additionally, she played guitar for the folk duo the Polekats, with whom she co-wrote several of her earlier songs. She enrolled in Yeovil College and took a foundations course in visual arts after graduating from high school.
