Facts of Radojka Modric

Radojka Modric is the mother of a Croatian professional footballer Luka Modric. 

She used to work as a textile worker. She is married to Stipe Modric, who was a military mechanic for Croatian Soldiers at war. 

They also have two other daughters named Jasmina Modric and Diora Modric.

Bond with  her family

Radojka shares a strong bond with her family. Despite all the struggles and problems she faced, she supported her husband and children wholeheartedly.

The journey from poor to rich

The Modric family were victims of the Bosnian war, and they belonged to an impoverished family. 

They spent most of their lives running from the Serbian aggressors. 

They faced many problems, including a lack of home, few clothes, and shelter during that time. 

Fortunately, their economic condition upgraded after Stipe started working as a Croatian Army mechanic. 

Forced to leave home

Radojka’s son was named after his grandfather, a soldier who fought along connecting significant towns. 

Unluckily, he was killed by the militant Serbian thugs.  Luka’s grandfather was raising him before they were forced to leave their villages. 

At that time, Radojka and her husband worked in a knitwear factory for long hours to financially support their family. 

According to a close relative of Modric, Radojka’s family left the house and moved to Zadar. 

They also lit their home on fire instantly after the death of Luka’s grandfather. 

When they arrived at Zadar, they started living in a cheap hotel. They spent several years without any electricity or running water. 

Grenades and bullet’s sound was an everyday event for Luka and his little sister Jasmina and landmines potentially hidden around any corner.

Away from Home

As Luka’s father was a skilled mechanic, he continued to work in Zadar. 

Though the family house of the Modric is still intact till today, Zadar became the new home for the Modric family when they had to leave their village. 

Stipe worked hard for his family, which improved their financial status and lifted them to a higher middle-class family. 

By that time, Luka had also started to play football. Now, the Modric family is super-rich; all credits go to Luka and his hard work.

Luka was born in 1985, 9th of September, and was a big Ronaldo fan since childhood. 

He plays for the Spanish club Real Madrid and captains the Croatia national team as a central midfielder. 

He also plays as an attacking midfielder or as a defensive midfielder. 

Luka is one of the best midfielders of his generation and the greatest Croatian footballer of all time. 

The star is a married man and is married to Vanja Bosnic.

His parents are proud of him. In an interview, his father said,
