Biography:

Song Hye-kyo was born on November 22, 1981, in Dalseo District, Daegu, South Korea. She trained as a figure skater in grade school but stopped her training when she was in the eighth grade. When she was 14, she won the SunKyung Smart Model Contest, which started her modeling career and led her to be cast for a minor role in the TV drama First Love. In her later life, she took up Film Arts at Sejong University.

She continued appearing in many dramas and sitcoms but it wasn’t until the KBS drama Autumn in My Heart that she gained mainstream fame in Korea and throughout Asia. Her popularity continued starring in the hit romantic comedy series Full House. After taking a break from acting on TV, she made her film debut in 2005’s My Girl and I. In the 2010s, she starred in many successful TV dramas, including That Winter, the Wind Blows, Descendants of the Sun, and Encounter. She will star in the upcoming SBS show Now, We Are Breaking Up.
