Suits Star Gina Torres Shares Swimsuit Photo as “Age Is Just a Number”
Sophia Carter Suits star Gina Torres is reminding everyone age means nothing when it comes to looking and feeling your best. Torres, 54, shared a picture of herself looking absolutely stunning in a lime green bikini, holding her hair up. "Vacations are good✨And a good excuse for my yearly random gratuitous bikini pic. #BetterThanEver #AgeIsANumber and Attitude is Forever 😎🙏🏽 #OnlyLoveIsReal," she captioned the post. "Ma'am. Torres works out not just to look good but to feel strong and capable, no matter what the situation. "With working out, it's about strength — being able to run up the stairs and just feeling like I can get myself out of a situation," she says. "I always want to come from a place of power, and of knowing my body. The fringe benefit of that is that I look great in some clothes … and am fit for life."
Torres balances her workouts with food indulgences. "I work out so I can feel good," she says. "Sometimes I hit it hard; sometimes it's just about getting it in. But food? I love food. I like all the no-nos. I love buttery, cinnamony, caramelly, and sometimes lemony things. And I love fried chicken and bacon! A friend and I were just cackling over our sea bass and butter, bread, and rosé. We were like, 'We work out so we can eat this!'"
Torres wants to get into the action movie genre. "So here comes movies like Wonder Woman, Black Panther, etc., and I'm looking at these movies and they're spectacular and so much fun," she says. "I spent half of my career being an action hero and, not for nothing, I'm still looking pretty cute. I'm still in great shape. I say that with humility. I work hard, and I'm aware of it."
Self-care is incredibly important for Torres' quality of life. "Emotional health is very important — especially when you've joined the circus, like I have," she says. "You need to take a breath and to take time away. I'm not about a spa day. God bless all the people that have given me spa gift certificates because they're stacked in my office drawer. I love a staycation. I like the quiet and being with my own thoughts and watching a movie and recharging. It's good for your mental health to leave the world out there for a minute and just keep quiet."
Torres attended Meghan Markle's wedding to Prince Harry but isn't in touch with the former actress. "There are people you have immediate and incredible chemistry with that you align with throughout the years, that are sustainable relationships," she says. "I enjoyed Meghan when we worked together. We had a great time as we worked together. We bore witness to a great many things in each other's lives while we worked together. But we were also in very different places in our lives and in our careers."
